Ian Smith Custom Carpentry was founded by Ian in 1989.  In 1993 he was joined by his Amherst College classmate Tom Esty.  Together, they are the nucleus of a company which serves customers in the greater Portland, Maine area to a mix of solid craftsmanship, high quality materials and old fashioned ethics. 

    Ian Smith Custom Carpentry works closely with our clients to meet the needs of growing or changing families from home improvements to kitchen remodels, additions to the complete transformation of existing homes. For us, each customer is an individual and each project a unique challenge.
